Portland Backyard Bat Mitzvah - Social Distancing

They say necessity is the mother of invention. Then uncertainty must be the mother of adaptation. So what do you do when it is uncertain as to whether you can hold a bat mitzvah in the synagogue? You create a beautiful and inspiring venue in your garden and proceed.

It was a little chilly, but inspiring none the less. I love being called to observe and capture the poise and grace of young women coming of age and demonstrating the fruits of their preparation with such reverence and joy.
